ABOUT US
Innovation in Aluminum Starts Here
KM&M-Aluminum was founded to support the development of specialty aluminum alloys, products, and processes. We do this by providing world-class expertise and equipment, as well as material and chemical analysis in one dedicated facility. We work with clients ranging from start-ups to large-scale producers in order to prototype, develop, and optimize the production of novel aluminum products.
Our Story
Kingston Metals & Materials Inc. was originally formed in 2003 for the production of high-purity metals, specialty materials, and compounds. The early focus was on production of high-purity Copper and Nickel. KM&M is a sister company of a larger organization Kingston Process Metallurgy Inc. that has been engaged in experimental development and prototyping, since 2002.

Alcereco operated a successful materials research facility in Kingston from 2013 to 2020, after the closure of the Kingston Novelis Research Center, previously Alcan Research. In 2021, KM&M acquired the key assets and relocated them to our McKay Street facility. We now have under one roof a complete aluminum production laboratory from casting (permanent mould, DC or strip cast), thermomechanical processing, and heat treatment. We also have full analytical, metallography, and profilometry capabilities operated by highly experienced aluminum scientists. KM&M-Aluminum is making best use of the local pool of aluminum experts, taping into this expertise developed over decades of aluminum transformation research in Kingston.
